Who are 33Fuel?

Like many of the best ideas, 33Fuel was born around a kitchen table over a good dinner with friends.
We were lamenting over the domination of ultra-processed powders, bars and gloop in the Sports Nutrition market. It seemed that even the most popular products had a long list of dodgy side-effects and sucked environmentally.

We already had a decade of experience with superfoods so, at the same kitchen table, we had a go ourselves. Our natural products improved daily and, as they did, so did our performance and health. Since then we have sold our multi-award-winning range to thousands of customers in over 30 different countries, as well as supplying elite performers from the England football team to Tour De France winners.

Sports nutrition is the study and practice of nutrition and diet with regards to improving anyone’s athletic performance. It is a broad interdisciplinary field that focuses on the science behind and application of proper nutrition during exercise. The goal of sports nutrition is to support the skills, power, strength, speed, and endurance of athletes, requiring physical training and the correct nutrition.

Macronutrient Ratios: Sports nutrition involves tailored recommendations for carbohydrate, protein, and fat intake, depending on the type and intensity of exercise. For example:
Endurance training: 0.54-0.64 grams of protein per pound of body weight
Strength training (to gain muscle mass): 0.72-0.81 grams of protein per pound of body weight
Strength training (to maintain weight): 0.54-0.64 grams of protein per pound of body weight
Carbohydrate intake: 2.5 grams per pound of body weight per hour of training for 1 hour of training per day, and no more than 6 grams per pound of body weight for more than 4 hours of training per day
Hydration: Adequate fluid intake is essential for athletes, with recommendations varying depending on exercise intensity and duration.
Individualization: Sports nutrition plans must be tailored to each athlete’s specific needs, taking into account factors such as body composition, training regimen, and competition schedule.
By understanding the science behind sports nutrition and applying it effectively, athletes can optimize their performance, support their overall health, and achieve their goals.
